Cold Front Will Lead To Change In Weather Pattern, Days Of Gusty Winds

It will feel more like November in the coming days as above-average weekend temperatures will be followed by the arrival of the coldest air of the season accompanied by strong winds.

After a cloudy start on Sunday, Oct. 13, with spotty showers farthest north and inland, it will become partly sunny, helping the high temperature climb to around 70 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service, showers will become more widespread Sunday night, with a few possible thunderstorms, as a slow-moving cold front pushes through.

The switch to cooler temperatures will start on Columbus Day on Monday, Oct. 14, with the high temperature about 10 degrees lower than Sunday and partly sunny skies after scattered showers in the morning. (See the first image above from AccuWeather.com.)

Wind speeds will increase on Monday, with gusts as high as 25 miles per hour, making it feel colder.

Tuesday, Oct. 15, will be sunny and brisk. The high temperature will be in the mid-50s after temperatures in the 30s and 40s to start the day. (Click on the second image above.) Wind gusts will be around 20 mph.

Look for more of the same on Wednesday, Oct. 16, with a high generally in the low 50s and plenty more sunshine, with calmer winds.

Overnight lows will fall into the upper 30s for most of the region, leading to patchy morning frost on Thursday, Oct. 17. 

It will be sunny, with a high temperature in the upper 50s.
